ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Daniel Wayne Broehl of Alexandria, Va., Dec. 16, 1974-June 15, 2015.
Born in Wooster, Daniel died suddenly, leaving a beloved wife, Elizabeth “Liz” and much-adored children, Logan and Lily.
He is also survived by his grandmother, Jean Broehl; his parents, David and Margo Broehl; a sister, Julia Hesse (Randy); a brother, Nathan Broehl (Rosie); parents-in-law, Ted and Linda Hallenbeck; a brother-in-law, Robert Hallenbeck; nephews and nieces, Jake and Maddie Hesse, Kezia, Keturah and Dylan Broehl; several cousins and dozens if not hundreds of loving and caring friends.
Daniel was a man of great kindness and empathy. It will surprise none who knew him his cause of death was an enlarged heart, for his gentle, loving spirit was legendary. He made everyone he met feel special and touched many lives from Wooster to Alexandria, Va., including coaching youth soccer and basketball.
He graduated from The College of Wooster and was a 15-year employee of the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. Organ donation and cremation have taken place.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 20 from 2-3:30 p.m. at Green Spring Gardens, 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria, Va. 22312.
