We will kick off our “B” meet season on Monday, June 15th at Forest Hollow. Our neighbors the Annandale Red Tide will be the visiting swim team. A couple of notes about this B meet:
- The official meet time is 6:00PM. Our warm up starts at 5:00PM. We will NOT have unassisted kickboard and assisted freestyle at this event. Only swimmers capable of swimming 25 meters by themselves can compete at this B Meet.
- Our pool will close for our “B” meet set up at 4:00PM. Feel free to ask the coaches (or me) what needs to be done as we put set up the flags, chairs, bleachers, lane lines, clerk of course and so forth. We need your help if you are available.
- All attending swimmers need to be at our pool in our team area and ready begin warm ups (caps and goggles on) no later than 4:45PM.
- Please note, our order of events; freestyle, back stroke, breast, butterfly and then conclude with IM. Young swimmers must be able to legally swim all four strokes before attempting this event. Please check with your coach to see where we need you to swim.
- Last check we still needed several volunteers for ALL of our jobs (timers, concessions and so on). Sign up in advance so I can rest assured that we have everything covered. - Please advise your swimmer to STAY IN THE TEAM AREA. Coaches have expressed difficulty locating swimmers in time to get them to the clerk of course. I have witnessed young swimmers upset because they missed their swim. You may want to bring their food and drinks to them.
- Let’s be gracious hosts and leave them as much parking as possible. If you can, please walk or carpool to the meet. Parking is NOT permitted on Old Columbia Road. You will be towed.
