We will have our next “B” meet Monday, July 7th with our neighbors at Parklawn:
This meet is at Parklawn Pool 6011 Crater Place, Alexandria VA 22312. The Gator caravan will leave our pool promptly at 4:50PM. If you are driving directly, all attending swimmers need to be at the Parklawn and ready to jump into the pool (caps and goggles on) by 5:10PM. The meet starts promptly at 6:00PM.
- Our Mini Gators have been practicing hard and are ready to go! This week we will have heats of unassisted kickboard and assisted swim. This is only for Mini Gators that have their coach’s approval. Mini Gator parents this is your chance to do your part and volunteer (see link below)!
- Our order of events will be the “B” meet kickboard, assisted freestyle, freestyle, back stroke, breast, butterfly and then IM. Young Gators, please do not try to swim an IM until you are confident that you have mastered all 4 strokes.
- Last check we still needed several volunteers for ALL of our spots (timers, table workers and marshals). Additionally, our pool is three times as large as theirs so we also could use extra “relief timers” for later events. Volunteer here!
- You may also bring your own chairs to sit on. Your swimmers should bring a least 2 towels and or a blanket. Bugs will be out so bug spray is also an option. Also be aware that their parking lot is very small so you will likely have to park in the neighborhood and walk to the pool. Allow extra time for this.
The Parklawn Grill will be open and ready to serve you delicious burgers, dogs and other delicious treats!
